Visualizing Roles: Why Player Images Fix Broken Tactics
A generic number 6 on a whiteboard is an abstract concept. But when a player sees their own face on the tactical board, they instantly understand their responsibility.
Before a match, the dressing room whiteboard is covered in magnets and hastily scrawled names. Coaches spend ten minutes pointing at a generic blue magnet and saying, "Liam, this is you, when they press here, you drop here."
The fundamental flaw is that players are expected to translate a generic diagram into personal instructions while simultaneously digesting the match plan. It is an unnecessary cognitive load. A digital board fixes this by allowing you to put the player's actual image on the counter.
